- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures according to established protocols and standards.
- Operate and maintain specialized nuclear medicine equipment.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in a safe and effective manner.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Review patient medical history and explain procedures to patients.
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate imaging techniques for each patient.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety guidelines and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Stay current with advancements and changes in nuclear medicine technology.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow infection control protocols.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide excellent patient care and ensure patient satisfaction.
- Train and supervise other nuclear medicine technologists.
- Participate in on-call rotation and work flexible hours as needed.
- Attend continuing education and training to maintain certification and licensure.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Other duties as assigned by the department supervisor or manager.
Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or Related Field
Certification By The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb) Or American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt)
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Environment
Proficient In Operating And Maintaining Nuclear Medicine Equipment, Including Spect/Ct And Pet/Ct Scanners
Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Protocols And Regulations, As Well As Experience With Handling And Disposing Of Radioactive Materials.
