
Medical Technologist- Micro

- Conduct and analyze a variety of laboratory tests and procedures related to microbiology, including but not limited to cultures, stains, and microscopy.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed, ensuring compliance with laboratory regulations and protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results.
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements and developments in microbiology and incorporate them into daily laboratory practices.
- Provide guidance and support to other laboratory staff, including training new employees and students.
- Identify and report any abnormal or unexpected results to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain proficiency in all laboratory procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding test results and any necessary follow-up.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Continuously evaluate and improve laboratory processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies.
- Attend relevant training and continuing education programs to stay current with industry standards.
- Represent Piedmont Healthcare in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field
Ascp Certification As A Medical Technologist
Prior Experience Working In A Microbiology Laboratory
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment
Ability To Troubleshoot And Problem-Solve Technical Issues In The Lab Setting
