
Medical Technologist, Core Lab

As a Medical Technologist, you will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise and knowledge to accurately perform and interpret laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. If you have a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field, along with a current Medical Technologist certification and at least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position. - Perform accurate and timely laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
- Interpret laboratory test results and communicate findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all tests and procedures performed.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Stay up-to-date on new laboratory techniques and technologies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
- Follow all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Train and mentor new laboratory staff as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance initiatives.
- Troubleshoot instrument and testing issues as needed.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field: A Medical Technologist Should Have A Strong Foundation In Medical Laboratory Science, Which Is Typically Attained Through A Bachelor's Degree Program.
Certification As A Medical Technologist (Mt) Or Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls): This Certification Is Required By Most Employers And Demonstrates That The Individual Has Met The Standards Set By A Nationally Recognized Agency, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Experience In A Core Lab Setting: A Strong Understanding Of Core Lab Operations, Including Proficiency In Performing A Variety Of Laboratory Tests And Utilizing Complex Instrumentation, Is Essential For This Role.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Regulations And Safety Protocols: Medical Technologists Must Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Laboratory Regulations And Safety Protocols, Including Clia And Osha Guidelines, To Ensure The Accuracy And Reliability Of Test Results And Maintain A Safe Work Environment.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Medical Technologist, One Must Be Able To Analyze Complex Data, Troubleshoot Equipment And Test Discrepancies, And Make Critical Decisions Based On Scientific Principles To Ensure Accurate And Timely Test Results.
