  1. Conducting quality assurance tests and calibrations to ensure accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
  2. Collaborating with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans for patients.
  3. Providing technical expertise and support for radiation therapy equipment and procedures.
  4. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient treatment plans and dosimetry data.
  5. Monitoring and evaluating radiation safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  6. Participating in research projects and staying current with advancements in medical physics.
  7. Training and educating staff on radiation safety and proper use of equipment.
  8. Responding to and resolving any technical issues or concerns related to radiation therapy.
  9. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment in accordance with infection control and safety protocols.
  10. Demonstrating a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and ensuring their safety during treatment.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Medical Physicist At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Medical Physics Or A Related Field.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Radiology In Therapeutic Medical Physics, Diagnostic Medical Physics, Or Nuclear Medical Physics.

  • Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Or Medical Center Setting Is Required For This Position.

  • Knowledge Of Regulations And Guidelines: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of State And Federal Regulations And Guidelines Related To Radiation Safety And Medical Physics.

  • Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Medical Physicist Will Be Working Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals And Patients.
