- Conducting quality assurance tests and calibrations to ensure accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
- Collaborating with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans for patients.
- Providing technical expertise and support for radiation therapy equipment and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient treatment plans and dosimetry data.
- Monitoring and evaluating radiation safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participating in research projects and staying current with advancements in medical physics.
- Training and educating staff on radiation safety and proper use of equipment.
- Responding to and resolving any technical issues or concerns related to radiation therapy.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment in accordance with infection control and safety protocols.

Advanced Degree: A Medical Physicist At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Medical Physics Or A Related Field.
Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Radiology In Therapeutic Medical Physics, Diagnostic Medical Physics, Or Nuclear Medical Physics.
Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Or Medical Center Setting Is Required For This Position.
Knowledge Of Regulations And Guidelines: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of State And Federal Regulations And Guidelines Related To Radiation Safety And Medical Physics.
Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Medical Physicist Will Be Working Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals And Patients.
