- Perform laboratory testing: Conduct a variety of laboratory tests, such as blood and urine analysis, tissue sampling, and microbiological testing, with precision and accuracy.
- Maintain laboratory equipment: Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to produce accurate results.
- Follow safety protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Record and analyze data: Record all test results accurately and analyze data to identify any abnormalities or inconsistencies.
- Troubleshoot issues: Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during testing to ensure accurate results.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization: Keep the laboratory clean and organized, including proper disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to interpret and communicate test results.
- Stay updated on industry advancements: Stay informed about advancements in laboratory technology and procedures to continuously improve the quality of testing.
- Ensure patient confidentiality: Adhere to patient confidentiality protocols to protect their privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Provide exceptional patient care: Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients while conducting tests and communicating results.
- Document and report results: Document all test results accurately and report them in a timely manner to healthcare providers.
- Adhere to quality control standards: Follow established quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Train and mentor others: Train and mentor new lab technicians and students to ensure they understand laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain inventory: Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies to ensure an adequate supply is always available.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives: Collaborate with the quality improvement team to identify and implement strategies for improving laboratory processes and procedures.
Associate's Degree In Medical Laboratory Technology Or Related Field.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Technician (Mlt) By A Recognized Accrediting Organization (I.e. Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Medical Lab Technician In A Clinical Laboratory.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Proficiency In Performing Medical Tests And Analyses.
Ability To Maintain Accurate Records And Follow Quality Control Procedures To Ensure Accurate And Reliable Results.
