  1. Perform a variety of laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, following established procedures and protocols.
  2. Ensure all equipment and instruments are properly calibrated and maintained for accurate test results.
  3. Prepare and analyze samples, record and report data, and maintain detailed records of all tests performed.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies with test results.
  5. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of test results.
  7. Participate in quality control and assurance programs to maintain high standards of accuracy and precision.
  8. Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in laboratory procedures.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly dispose of biohazardous materials, and adhere to proper waste management protocols.
  10. Provide exceptional patient care and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and superiors to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  13. Assist in training and mentoring new laboratory staff as needed.
  14. Actively participate in continuous education and professional development opportunities.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or director.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field: A Medical Lab Technician At Piedmont Healthcare Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field To Have A Strong Foundation In Laboratory Procedures And Techniques.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Technician: Candidates Should Have A Certification As A Medical Laboratory Technician (Mlt) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp), To Demonstrate Their Knowledge And Competence In The Field.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures: A Medical Lab Technician Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Specimen Collection, Processing, And Analysis, As Well As Quality Control And Assurance Protocols.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Given The Critical Nature Of Their Work, Medical Lab Technicians Should Have Meticulous Attention To Detail And A High Level Of Accuracy To Ensure Reliable And Valid Test Results.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Piedmont Healthcare's Medical Lab Technicians Should Be Able To Work Efficiently And Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment, Prioritizing Tasks And Managing Time Effectively To Meet Tight Deadlines And Maintain A High Level Of Productivity.
