- Safely transport patients to and from various locations within the hospital, including but not limited to, patient rooms, diagnostic testing areas, and surgical suites.
- Ensure timely and efficient transport of patients by prioritizing tasks and coordinating with other hospital staff.
- Oversee and train a team of patient transporters to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient transports, including documenting any delays or issues.
- Monitor equipment and supplies used for patient transport, reporting any maintenance needs or shortages to appropriate staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families by being courteous, friendly, and responsive to their needs.
- Collaborate with nursing and other hospital staff to ensure patient safety and comfort during transport.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, answering any questions or concerns they may have regarding their transport.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve patient transport processes and suggest solutions to enhance patient experience.
Experience In Patient Transportation: The Ideal Candidate For A Lead Patient Transporter Position At Piedmont Healthcare Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Transporting Patients Within A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Safe Handling Techniques And Proper Use Of Medical Equipment.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Lead Patient Transporter, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Medical Staff, And Other Team Members Is Crucial.
