  1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the patient transportation department.
  2. Lead and mentor a team of patient transporters, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional patient care.
  3. Coordinate and assign daily tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  4. Ensure timely and safe transportation of patients throughout the facility.
  5. Collaborate with nursing and other departments to prioritize and schedule patient transportation requests.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient transportation activities.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies necessary for patient transportation.
  8. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
  9. Train new team members on proper patient transportation procedures and protocols.
  10. Provide feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
  11. Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to patient transportation.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  13. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in patient transportation.
  14. Collaborate with management to develop and implement policies and procedures related to patient transportation.
  15. Assist with budget planning and management for the patient transportation department.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Lead Patient Transporter At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Ensure Adequate Communication And Comprehension Skills.

  • Previous Supervisory Experience: As A Lead Position, This Role Requires Previous Experience In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Transportation Equipment And Procedures: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Transportation Equipment And Procedures In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting, Including Proper Handling Of Medical Equipment And Patient Safety Protocols.

  • Customer Service Skills: The Lead Patient Transporter Will Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Staff On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Customer Service Skills Are Essential To Ensure A Positive And Compassionate Experience For All.

  • Physical Ability: This Role Requires Frequent Lifting, Pushing, And Pulling Of Heavy Objects, Such As Stretchers And Wheelchairs. Candidates Must Be Physically Able To Meet The Demands Of The Job And Be Able To Navigate The Hospital Environment Efficiently.
