- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the laboratory within the Pathology department.
- Ensure that all laboratory procedures and testing processes are accurate, efficient, and in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Supervise and lead a team of laboratory technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
- Develop and implement new procedures and protocols to improve laboratory processes and increase efficiency.
- Maintain and monitor laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and pharmacy, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results.
- Train and mentor new laboratory staff, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for existing staff.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring necessary supplies and materials are always available.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including test results, quality control measures, and employee performance evaluations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, and ensure that laboratory staff do the same.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements and developments in the field of pathology, and make recommendations for implementing new technologies or processes.
- Act as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a commitment to quality patient care.
- Handle any issues or concerns that may arise within the laboratory, taking appropriate action to resolve conflicts and maintain a productive work environment.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate laboratory processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Role.
Ascp Or Other Nationally Recognized Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt).
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Operations, Quality Control, And Regulatory Compliance.
Excellent Leadership, Communication, And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Mentor A Team Of Laboratory Staff.
