  1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive and high-quality psychiatry residency program in accordance with ACGME requirements.
  2. Create and implement curriculum, including didactic and clinical components, to provide residents with a strong foundation in psychiatry.
  3. Participate in the recruitment, selection, and supervision of residents, ensuring a diverse and talented group.
  4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for residents, providing guidance and support as needed.
  5. Monitor and evaluate resident performance, providing feedback and implementing remediation plans as necessary.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to provide a multidisciplinary approach to resident education and patient care.
  7. Stay updated on advancements and changes in the field of psychiatry, incorporating new techniques and technologies into the residency program.
  8. Engage in continuous quality improvement efforts to enhance the program and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  9. Serve as a mentor and role model for residents, promoting professionalism, ethical behavior, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  10. Represent the residency program at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote the program and recruit potential applicants.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree In Psychiatry: A Gme Program Director At Piedmont Healthcare Must Have A Medical Degree In Psychiatry From An Accredited Institution. This Qualification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Expertise To Oversee A Psychiatry Residency Program.

  • Board Certification In Psychiatry: Candidates For The Gme Program Director Position Must Be Board Certified In Psychiatry. This Certification Demonstrates Their Competency And Expertise In The Field And Ensures They Can Provide High-Quality Education And Training To Residents.

  • Experience In Residency Program Leadership: A Successful Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In Residency Program Leadership, Preferably In Psychiatry. This Experience Should Include Developing And Implementing Curriculum, Evaluating Resident Performance, And Ensuring Program Compliance With Accreditation Standards.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Gme Program Director Will Be Responsible For Working With A Diverse Group Of Residents, Faculty, And Staff. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Effectively Collaborate, Resolve Conflicts, And Provide Mentorship And Support To Residents.

  • Knowledge Of Acgme Accreditation Standards: The Accreditation Council For Graduate Medical Education (Acgme) Sets The Standards For Residency Program Accreditation. The Gme Program Director Must Have A Deep Understanding Of These Standards And Ensure The Psychiatry Residency Program At Piedmont Healthcare Meets Or Exceeds Them.
