
ED Flow Coordinator

- Coordinate patient flow through the emergency department, ensuring timely and efficient care for each patient.
- Monitor patient wait times and work with staff to identify and resolve any delays or issues.
- Communicate with healthcare team members to ensure all necessary resources are available for patient care.
- Serve as a liaison between the emergency department and other departments within the hospital to facilitate smooth transitions and transfers.
- Oversee and manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategies for improving patient flow and reducing wait times.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices for managing patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient flow data for reporting and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Act as a patient advocate, addressing any concerns or complaints and working towards solutions.
- Participate in meetings and committees related to patient flow and process improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in patient flow management.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Healthcare Management: A Strong Educational Background In Nursing Or Healthcare Management Is Essential For This Role As An Ed Flow Coordinator. This Knowledge Will Provide The Necessary Foundation To Effectively Manage And Coordinate Patient Flow Within The Emergency Department.
Previous Experience In Emergency Department Management: To Be Successful In This Role, Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In An Emergency Department Setting, Preferably In A Leadership Or Management Position. This Experience Will Provide A Solid Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Complexities Of Managing Patient Flow In The Ed.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Ed Flow Coordinator, You Will Be Responsible For Coordinating With Various Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Staff Members. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Effectively Manage And Collaborate With These Individuals.
Excellent Organizational And Time-Management Skills: The Ed Flow Coordinator Will Be Responsible For Managing Patient Flow In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
