Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Charge Nurse for our Labor and Delivery department. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a crucial role in leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality care to our laboring patients.   1. Lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality care to patients in the Labor and Delivery department.
  2. Supervise and provide support to the nursing staff, ensuring they are following best practices and providing compassionate and personalized care.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create and implement patient care plans.
  4. Monitor and assess patient progress and respond to any changes in condition, taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout the labor and delivery process.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documentation of care provided and any changes in condition.
  7. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
  8. Act as a resource for staff, providing guidance and support in complex patient cases.
  9. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Serve as a positive role model for the nursing staff, promoting professionalism and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
  11. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Labor and Delivery department.
  12. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  13. Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in labor and delivery care.
  14. Assist with scheduling and staff assignments to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.

Job Qualifications
  • Active And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Georgia.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience As A Charge Nurse In A Labor And Delivery Department.

  • Bls, Acls, And Nrp Certifications.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Handle Challenging Situations.
