  1. Accurately capture and enter charges for surgical procedures into the billing system.
  2. Review and verify surgical procedure documentation to ensure charges are correct and in compliance with coding guidelines.
  3. Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to obtain missing or incomplete charge information.
  4. Monitor and track charge capture processes to identify and address any discrepancies or issues.
  5. Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve any billing or coding-related inquiries.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing regulations and guidelines.
  7. Assist with coding and billing audits to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  8. Participate in training and educational programs to enhance coding and billing skills.
  9. Utilize electronic medical records and billing software to accurately document and process charges.
  10. Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile and resolve any charge discrepancies.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  12. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance charge capture efficiency.
  13. Keep accurate records and reports of charge capture activities.
  14. Adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  15. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families by addressing any concerns or questions related to billing and coding.
  16. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate charge capture and billing processes.
  17. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
  18. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the Surgical Services team.
  19. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards while representing Piedmont Healthcare.
  20. Continuously strive to meet and exceed organizational goals and objectives related to charge capture and revenue generation.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Charge Capture Or Revenue Cycle Management In A Surgical Services Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Cpt And Icd-10 Coding Principles And Guidelines.

  • Familiarity With Healthcare Billing And Reimbursement Processes, Including Insurance Verification And Claim Submission.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Health Record Systems And Billing Software, Such As Epic Or Meditech.
