  1. Provide compassionate and attentive care to patients while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  2. Assist healthcare providers in administering treatments and procedures, including taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and preparing patients for exams.
  3. Ensure accurate documentation of patient information, including medical history, current medications, and test results.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide a positive and welcoming environment.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote efficiency and safety.
  6. Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  8. Continuously update knowledge and skills through training, education, and staying current with industry developments.
  9. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  10. Comply with all legal and ethical standards in the healthcare field.
  11. Serve as a role model for other team members by upholding Piedmont Healthcare's values and mission.
  12. Provide exceptional customer service and address any patient concerns or inquiries.
  13. Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  15. Cross-train and assist in other areas of the healthcare facility as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Recognized Medical Assistant Program That Includes Both Classroom Instruction And Clinical Experience. This Ensures That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Certified Medical Assistant.

  • Certification As A Medical Assistant: The Candidate Must Hold A Current And Valid Certification As A Medical Assistant From A Recognized Certifying Body, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Proficiency In Medical Assisting And Their Commitment To The Profession.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Certified Medical Assistant Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, As Well As Knowledge Of Common Medical Procedures And Treatments. This Allows Them To Communicate Effectively With Healthcare Providers And Perform Tasks Accurately And Efficiently.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Always Required, Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Certified Medical Assistant. This Could Include Experience In A Doctor's Office, Clinic, Or Hospital. Experience In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Thrive In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Certified Medical Assistants Must Have Excellent Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team. They Should Also Possess Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, As They Will Be Responsible For Documenting Patient Information And Communicating With Patients And Staff.
