- Perform all tasks related to sterile processing, including decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, and sterilization of all surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Follow established infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

- Maintain accurate records of all processed and sterilized items.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies for patient care.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Central Sterile Technician At Piedmont Healthcare Must Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate Basic Educational Qualifications And Understanding Of Medical Terminology.
Certification In Sterile Processing: Candidates Must Have A Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm).
Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques And Equipment: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Sterilization Methods, Such As Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Gas Plasma, As Well As Knowledge Of Different Types Of Sterilization Equipment.
Attention To Detail: Central Sterile Technicians Are Responsible For Sterilizing And Preparing Medical Instruments And Equipment, Which Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure Proper Sterilization And Prevent Infections.
