  1. Clean and sterilize medical equipment in accordance with industry standards and hospital protocols.
  2. Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring proper levels are maintained at all times.
  3. Inspect and assemble medical equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety for patient use.
  4. Adhere to strict infection control procedures to prevent the spread of diseases.
  5. Monitor and document equipment maintenance and repair needs, reporting any issues to the appropriate department.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery of sterile equipment to patient care areas.
  7. Follow all safety and quality control standards to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Contribute to the training and education of new staff members on proper sterilization techniques and equipment usage.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and changes in sterilization techniques to continuously improve processes.
  10. Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills to promote a positive and efficient work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Sterile Processing: Candidates Should Possess A Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Certification From The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm) Or A Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt) Certification From The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd).

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: Applicants Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Sterilization Techniques Including Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma.

  • Familiarity With Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For A Central Sterile Technician As They Will Be Responsible For Identifying And Processing Various Medical Instruments And Equipment.

  • Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Central Sterile Technician Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure All Equipment And Instruments Are Properly Sterilized And Prepared For Use In Medical Procedures.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Environment, Preferably In A Central Sterile Processing Department, Is Preferred For Candidates Applying For This Role At Piedmont Healthcare. This Will Ensure Familiarity With Healthcare Protocols And Procedures, As Well As The Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment.
