If so, Petco is looking for a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team! As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support for our furry friends.   1. Provide exceptional care for all animals in the Petco facility, including administering medications, assisting with procedures, and monitoring their overall health.
  2. Utilize your knowledge and skills in veterinary care to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions in animals.
  3. Perform various laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of animals.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all animals in our care, ensuring that all treatments and procedures are properly documented.
  5. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including diet, exercise, and preventative care measures.
  6. Handle and restrain animals in a safe and compassionate manner during procedures and examinations.
  7. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of surgical equipment and supplies.
  8. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility.
  9. Communicate effectively with pet owners, veterinarians, and other team members to ensure the highest level of care for all animals.
  10. Stay up-to-date on veterinary practices and procedures, and participate in continuing education opportunities to improve skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the well-being of both animals and team members.
  12. Show compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners during all interactions.
  13. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.
  14. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and other company events as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Ability To Handle And Restrain Animals Safely And Effectively.

  • Associate's Degree In Veterinary Technology Or Equivalent Certification.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working As A Veterinary Technician In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Common Animal Diseases, Treatments, And Medications.

  • Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Advise Pet Owners On Proper Animal Care.
