As a Vetco Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to pets in our community.   1. Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to pets in the community.
  2. Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
  4. Monitor and record vital signs of animals.
  5. Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment for procedures.
  6. Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals and their owners.
  7. Educate clients on basic pet care and preventive health measures.
  8. Maintain accurate medical records of patients.
  9. Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic tests.
  10. Keep inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  11. Ensure a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
  12. Participate in training and continuing education to stay current with medical advancements.
  13. Communicate effectively with veterinarians, staff, and clients.
  14. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  15. Exhibit a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Animal Health And Care: A Vetco Veterinary Assistant Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Animal Health And Care, Including Basic Medical Procedures, Nutrition, And Behavior.

  • Experience With Animal Handling And Restraint: As A Vetco Veterinary Assistant, You Will Be Responsible For Safely Handling And Restraining Animals During Appointments And Procedures. Previous Experience In This Area Is Essential.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication With Both Pet Owners And The Rest Of The Vetco Team Is Crucial In This Role. A Vetco Veterinary Assistant Should Be Able To Clearly Convey Information And Instructions To Clients And Colleagues.

  • Customer Service Skills: As A Customer-Facing Role, A Vetco Veterinary Assistant Should Possess Strong Customer Service Skills. This Includes Being Friendly, Approachable, And Empathetic Towards Pet Owners And Their Furry Companions.

  • Attention To Detail: In A Fast-Paced Veterinary Environment, Attention To Detail Is Critical. A Vetco Veterinary Assistant Should Be Able To Accurately Record And Communicate Information, As Well As Maintain A Clean And Organized Work Area.
