  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care for pets at Petco's Vetco locations.
  2. Assist veterinarians with medical procedures and treatments.
  3. Handle and restrain animals in a safe and gentle manner.
  4. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the health and well-being of the pets.
  5. Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing them with updates and instructions on the care of their pets.
  6. Educate pet owners on proper pet care and preventative health measures.
  7. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and processing payments.
  8. Monitor pet's vital signs and report any abnormalities to the veterinarian.
  9. Assist with the collection and preparation of laboratory samples.
  10. Restock and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  12. Continuously strive to improve knowledge and skills in the veterinary field.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards coworkers, clients, and pets.
  14. Provide support and assistance to the veterinary team as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For A Veterinary Assistant Position. This Ensures That Applicants Have A Basic Level Of Education And Are Able To Communicate Effectively.

  • Previous Experience Working With Animals: Most Vetco Veterinary Assistant Positions Require Previous Experience Working With Animals. This Can Include Volunteer Work, Internships, Or Previous Employment At A Veterinary Clinic Or Animal Shelter.
