  1. Provide exceptional care and support to all patients and their owners.
  2. Assist veterinarians in examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients.
  5. Monitor and record vital signs of patients.
  6. Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
  7. Clean and maintain the veterinary clinic and equipment.
  8. Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures.
  9. Assist with client communication and scheduling appointments.
  10. Continuously learn and stay updated on new techniques and procedures in veterinary medicine.
  11. Collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.
  12. Display a warm, compassionate, and professional attitude towards all patients and clients.
  13. Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  14. Follow all legal and ethical standards in animal care.
  15. Participate in training and development programs as required by the clinic.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Requirement For A Veterinary Assistant Job At Petco Would Be A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Education And The Ability To Learn And Follow Instructions.

  • Certification In Veterinary Assisting: Candidates With A Certification In Veterinary Assisting Would Have A Higher Chance Of Getting Hired. This Certification Shows A Deeper Understanding Of Animal Care And Handling, As Well As Knowledge Of Common Medical Procedures.

  • Previous Experience In A Veterinary Setting: Experience Working In A Veterinary Clinic Or Animal Hospital, Even As A Volunteer, Would Be Highly Valued For This Position. It Shows A Familiarity With Animal Care And Handling, As Well As An Understanding Of The Environment And Demands Of The Job.
