As a Stocker/Cashier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the store is stocked, organized, and operating smoothly. In addition, you will also assist with cashier duties, providing friendly and efficient service to our valued customers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about animals and has a strong work ethic.   1. Greet and welcome customers to Petco in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  3. Receive, stock, and price merchandise to ensure shelves are fully stocked and visually appealing.
  4. Monitor inventory levels and inform management when supplies are running low.
  5. Help customers find products and answer any questions they may have.
  6. Operate cash register and accurately handle cash, credit, and debit transactions.
  7. Ensure all transactions are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  8. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  9. Follow proper procedures for opening and closing the store.
  10. Adhere to all safety and security protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  11. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  12. Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and store promotions.
  13. Assist with store cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed.
  14. Display a passion for animals and provide exceptional care for all pets.
  15. Uphold the company's values and principles while representing the Petco brand.

Job Qualifications

  • Previous Retail Experience: A Qualified Stocker / Cashier At Petco Should Have Previous Experience In A Retail Setting, Preferably In A Pet Store Or Related Industry. This Experience Should Demonstrate An Understanding Of Customer Service, Cash Handling, And Stocking Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Pet Products: Petco Is A Specialty Pet Store, So A Stocker / Cashier Must Have Knowledge Of Various Pet Products, Including Food, Toys, And Accessories. This Knowledge Will Allow Them To Assist Customers With Product Inquiries And Make Suitable Recommendations.

  • Strong Organizational Skills: As A Stocker / Cashier, One Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks And Responsibilities Simultaneously. This Requires Strong Organizational Skills To Ensure That The Store Shelves Are Well-Stocked, The Register Is Attended To, And Customers Are Provided With Prompt And Efficient Service.

  • Cash Handling Experience: As A Cashier, One Must Have Experience Handling Cash, Credit, And Debit Transactions. This Includes Counting Money Accurately, Processing Returns And Exchanges, And Maintaining The Cash Register And Surrounding Area In A Neat And Organized Manner.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: Petco Prides Itself On Providing Exceptional Customer Service, And A Stocker / Cashier Must Embody This Value. They Must Be Friendly, Approachable, And Able To Communicate Effectively With Customers To Ensure Their Needs Are Met. Additionally, A Qualified Candidate Should Be Able To Handle Difficult Situations And Solve Customer Complaints With Professionalism.
