As an Aquatics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our aquatic animals, as well as providing exceptional customer service to our pet parents.   1. Ensure the health and well-being of all aquatic animals in the store
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to pet parents by answering questions and providing guidance on aquatic animal care
  3. Maintain a clean and safe environment for all aquatic animals
  4. Conduct regular water quality tests and maintain proper levels for optimal animal health
  5. Create and maintain appropriate habitats for various aquatic animals
  6. Educate customers on proper care and maintenance of aquatic animals, including tank setup, feeding, and disease prevention
  7. Perform regular feedings and monitor animal behavior and health
  8. Identify and treat any health issues or diseases in aquatic animals
  9. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  10. Assist with receiving and acclimating new aquatic animals to the store
  11. Collaborate with other team members to ensure proper care and maintenance of all animals in the store
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in aquatic animal care
  13. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols
  14. Maintain accurate records and documentation of animal care and sales
  15. Continuously strive to improve and enhance the aquatic animal section of the store.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Aquatic Species: An Aquatics Specialist Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Different Types Of Aquatic Species, Their Habitats, And Their Care Requirements. This Includes Fish, Amphibians, And Invertebrates.

  • Experience In Aquatics Retail: Candidates For This Position Should Have Experience Working In A Retail Environment, Specifically In The Aquatics Department. This Includes Knowledge Of Tank Maintenance, Water Quality Testing, And Fish Health.

  • Customer Service Skills: As An Aquatics Specialist, One Will Be Responsible For Providing Excellent Customer Service To Pet Owners. This Includes Assisting Customers With Their Purchases, Answering Questions About Aquatic Species, And Providing Recommendations For Products.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role, As An Aquatics Specialist Will Need To Communicate With Customers, Team Members, And Vendors. This Includes Giving Presentations, Writing Reports, And Maintaining Accurate Records.

  • Aquatic Equipment Knowledge: A Successful Aquatics Specialist Should Possess Knowledge Of Different Types Of Aquatic Equipment, Such As Filters, Pumps, And Heaters. They Should Also Be Familiar With Different Types Of Fish Food And Water Treatments.
