As an Aquatics Specialist, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and passion for aquatic life with our customers, while also ensuring the well-being and care of our finned friends.   1. Greet and welcome customers to Petco with a positive and friendly attitude.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to and addressing the needs and concerns of customers.
  3. Demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of aquatic pets and their care, including fish, reptiles, and amphibians.
  4. Educate customers on proper care and maintenance of aquatic pets, including tank set-up, water quality, and nutrition.
  5. Assist customers in selecting the appropriate aquatic pets, supplies, and equipment for their needs.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized aquatic department, including regular tank maintenance and water testing.
  7. Monitor the health and well-being of aquatic pets and provide appropriate care and treatment when necessary.
  8. Create and maintain attractive displays to showcase aquatic pets and products.
  9. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent overall customer experience.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices in aquatic pet care.
  11. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales and inventory.
  12. Follow company policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation guidelines.
  13. Assist in training and mentoring new team members on aquatic pet care and customer service.
  14. Continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction and store performance.
  15. Represent Petco in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience With Aquatic Animals: This Includes A Strong Understanding Of Various Species, Their Habitats, Behavior, And Proper Care And Maintenance.

  • Certification In Aquatic Animal Care And Management: A Reputable Certification Program, Such As The Certified Aquatic Veterinary Technician (Cavt) Or Certified Aquatic Technician (Cat), Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Commitment To The Field.

  • Strong Customer Service And Communication Skills: As An Aquatics Specialist, You Will Be Interacting With Customers Daily, Providing Guidance And Education On Aquatic Animal Care. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential.

  • Physical Ability To Handle And Maintain Aquatic Animals: This Role May Involve Heavy Lifting And Physical Labor, As Well As Safely Handling And Caring For Aquatic Animals Of Various Sizes And Species.

  • Experience In Aquarium Setup And Maintenance: A Successful Aquatics Specialist Should Have Experience In Setting Up And Maintaining Aquariums, Including Knowledge Of Filtration Systems, Water Quality Testing, And Common Maintenance Tasks.
