1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the animal care department to ensure the well-being and safety of all pets in the store.
2. Train and supervise animal care associates to ensure they adhere to company policies and procedures.
3. Monitor inventory and ordering of supplies to maintain a fully stocked and organized animal care department.
4. Develop and implement animal care protocols in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Conduct regular health checks on all animals and provide necessary medical care or treatment if needed.
6. Provide guidance and support to customers on proper pet care and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
7. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for all animals, including regular cleaning and disinfecting of cages, tanks, and other habitats.
8. Monitor and maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and adoption information.
9. Coordinate with other departments to plan and execute adoption events and promotions.
10. Handle customer complaints or issues related to animal care with professionalism and compassion.
11. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and advancements in animal care to continuously improve the department.
12. Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols to prevent accidents or incidents involving pets or customers.
13. Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies to improve the overall customer experience and increase sales.
