- Supervise and manage a team of animal care associates to ensure the highest level of care for all animals in our stores.
- Oversee daily operations of the animal care department, including feeding, grooming, and cleaning of all animal habitats.
- Train and mentor new animal care associates on proper animal handling techniques and store policies.
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of all animals in our care, including administering medications and coordinating veterinary care when necessary.
- Develop and implement protocols for the prevention and control of diseases within the store.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding animal care and welfare.
- Maintain accurate records of animal inventory, health, and adoption information.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding animal care and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with store management to develop and implement promotions and events to increase animal adoptions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve animal care procedures to ensure the best possible environment for our animals.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns regarding animal care and work towards finding a resolution.
- Conduct regular training and staff meetings to keep associates informed of any changes in animal care procedures or policies.
- Foster a positive and safe work environment for all associates, promoting teamwork and open communication.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in animal care to provide the best care possible for our animals.
Experience In Animal Care: A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working With Animals In A Professional Setting, Such As A Veterinary Clinic Or Animal Shelter, Is Required For This Position.
Leadership Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Supervisory Role, Demonstrating Strong Leadership, Team Building, And Communication Skills.
Knowledge Of Animal Health And Behavior: A Thorough Understanding Of Animal Health And Behavior Is Necessary To Ensure The Well-Being Of The Animals Under The Supervisor's Care. This May Include Knowledge Of Common Illnesses, Vaccination Protocols, And Training Techniques.
Customer Service Skills: As A Supervisor, This Individual Will Not Only Be Responsible For The Animals But Also For Managing A Team And Interacting With Customers. Excellent Customer Service Skills, Including The Ability To Handle Difficult Situations And Provide Exceptional Service, Are Essential For This Role.
Organizational And Administrative Skills: This Position Requires The Ability To Manage Schedules, Maintain Records, And Oversee Inventory For The Animal Care Department. Strong Organizational And Administrative Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Manage These Responsibilities.
