1. Oversee the daily operations of the animal care department and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
2. Manage a team of animal care associates and provide guidance, training, and support to ensure their success.
3. Maintain the health and well-being of all animals in the store by monitoring their diet, exercise, and living conditions.
4. Ensure that all animals are receiving proper medical care and promptly address any health concerns.
5. Create and implement protocols for the proper handling, feeding, and care of animals.
6. Monitor inventory of animal care supplies and medications, and order necessary items as needed.
7. Enforce all safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and healthy environment for animals and customers.
8. Act as a point of contact for any customer inquiries or concerns regarding animal care.
9. Collaborate with other departments, such as grooming and training, to ensure a seamless and positive experience for customers and their pets.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in animal care, and make recommendations for improvements to current practices.
11. Conduct regular performance evaluations for animal care associates and provide feedback for their growth and development.
12. Foster a positive and supportive work culture for all team members.
