1. Ensure the safety and well-being of the campus community, including students, faculty, and staff.
2. Patrol the campus, including buildings and grounds, to monitor for potential safety hazards or suspicious activity.
3. Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and criminal incidents.
4. Enforce campus policies and regulations, as well as state and federal laws.
5. Conduct investigations and write reports on incidents that occur on campus.
6. Provide assistance and support to individuals in need, including escorting students to their dorms or assisting with vehicle jump starts.
7. Monitor and maintain the security of campus buildings and facilities, including locking and unlocking doors and checking for unauthorized access.
8. Collaborate with other departments and campus resources to ensure a coordinated response to emergency situations.
9. Serve as a point of contact for individuals seeking assistance or information.
10. Educate the campus community on safety procedures and emergency preparedness.
11. Maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports and daily logs.
12. Continuously monitor surveillance cameras and respond to any potential safety concerns.
13. Attend trainings and stay updated on current campus safety procedures and protocols.
14. Act as a positive and professional representative of Pepperdine University at all times.
15. Uphold the values and mission of the university while performing duties as a Public Safety Officer.
