- Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy for the Caruso School of Law and School of Public Policy, in alignment with the overall goals and mission of Pepperdine University.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with alumni, ensuring a high level of engagement and participation in the university's initiatives and events.
- Plan and execute events and programs that foster a sense of community and connection among alumni, students, faculty, and staff.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders within the university to identify and leverage opportunities for alumni involvement and support.
- Utilize data and analytics to track and measure the success of alumni engagement efforts, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between the university and alumni, providing regular updates and communications on relevant news and initiatives.
- Develop and manage a budget for alumni engagement activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximizing impact.
- Serve as an advocate for alumni within the university, advocating for their needs and interests and providing support and resources as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in alumni engagement, and continuously seek out new opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Represent the university at alumni events and conferences, and actively participate in professional networks and associations related to alumni engagement.
- Lead and manage a team of alumni engagement staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the university's development team to identify and cultivate potential donors among alumni, and support fundraising efforts as needed.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the Caruso School of Law and School of Public Policy, promoting the university's mission and values to alumni and the wider community.
- Uphold the university's standards of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all alumni engagement efforts.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures, and maintain the highest level of ethical standards in all interactions with alumni and stakeholders.
Relevant Experience: A Director Of Alumni Engagement For Csol And Spp At Pepperdine University Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Alumni Relations, Fundraising, Or A Related Field. This Experience Should Include Working With A Diverse Alumni Base And Planning Events And Initiatives To Engage Alumni.
Strong Communication Skills: This Position Requires Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills To Effectively Engage And Connect With Alumni. The Director Should Be Able To Craft Compelling Messaging, Develop Marketing Materials, And Deliver Presentations To Various Audiences.
Fundraising Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successful Fundraising And Development Initiatives. This Includes Experience With Major Gifts, Planned Giving, And Annual Appeals. Knowledge Of Best Practices In Donor Stewardship And Cultivation Is Also Important.
Strategic Thinking: The Director Of Alumni Engagement Should Be Able To Think Strategically And Develop Long-Term Plans To Engage And Involve Alumni In The Mission Of Pepperdine University. They Should Possess Strong Analytical Skills And Be Able To Use Data To Inform Decision-Making.
Team Management Skills: This Role Will Require The Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Of Alumni Engagement Professionals. The Director Should Have Experience In Team Building, Mentoring, And Creating A Positive And Inclusive Work Environment. They Should Also Have The Ability To Collaborate And Work Effectively With Other Departments And Stakeholders Within The University.
