As a Development Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the fundraising efforts of the University, helping to secure resources that will enable us to continue providing a transformative education to our students.   1. Coordinate and support the fundraising efforts of Pepperdine University by working closely with the Development team and other departments.
  2. Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, including donor stewardship events, alumni events, and other fundraising initiatives.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records and databases, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of donations and pledges.
  4. Conduct research on potential donors and assist in identifying and cultivating new donor relationships.
  5. Collaborate with team members to create compelling fundraising materials and communications, including appeal letters, donor reports, and social media content.
  6. Provide exceptional customer service to donors, alumni, and other stakeholders, serving as a point of contact for inquiries and requests.
  7. Manage and track the progress of donor pledges and gifts, ensuring proper acknowledgement and recognition of donors.
  8. Coordinate and oversee volunteer activities, such as fundraising committees, to support the development efforts of the University.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to increase donor retention and engagement.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in fundraising, higher education, and philanthropy.
  11. Attend meetings and events as a representative of the Development team, promoting the mission and values of Pepperdine University.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive donor information.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development or other senior staff members.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Business, Marketing, Or Communications.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Fundraising Or Development, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Relationships And Engage With Donors And Fundraising Volunteers.

  • Knowledge Of Fundraising Principles And Best Practices, Including Donor Cultivation, Stewardship, And Solicitation Strategies.

  • Highly Organized And Detail-Oriented, With The Ability To Manage Multiple Projects And Prioritize Tasks Effectively.
