We are currently seeking a skilled Carpenter/Painter 1 to join our Facilities team. As a Carpenter/Painter 1, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the physical appearance of our campus. - Perform carpentry tasks including framing, building, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures on campus.
- Conduct painting projects including preparing surfaces, mixing and matching paints, and applying paint using various techniques.
- Maintain and repair existing structures and fixtures on campus, including but not limited to doors, cabinets, and furniture.
- Collaborate with other members of the Facilities team to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to building codes and regulations while completing tasks.
- Keep track of inventory and tools, and communicate any needs or replacements to supervisor.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff by addressing any concerns or requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Keep work area clean and organized, and properly dispose of materials and waste.
- Assist in the training and supervision of Carpenter/Painter 1 assistants or interns.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and contribute ideas to enhance the appearance and functionality of the campus.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Carpentry And Painting, Preferably In A University Or Institutional Setting.
Knowledge Of Various Carpentry Techniques And Materials, Including Framing, Trim Work, And Cabinetry.
Ability To Read And Interpret Blueprints And Building Plans.
Proficiency In Painting Techniques, Including Preparation, Application, And Finishing.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Complete Projects Within Specified Deadlines.
