Job Description

Pepperdine University is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an Academic Advisor for our Part-Time Program Administration. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting and guiding our students towards academic success. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and provide valuable resources and support to help them achieve their educational goals.   1. Provide academic advising to students in the Part-Time Program Administration, including course selection, program requirements, and academic support resources.
  2. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the curriculum and academic policies to effectively guide students towards their academic goals.
  3. Monitor and track students' academic progress, identify potential issues, and provide proactive support and interventions.
  4. Assist students in creating and updating academic plans to ensure timely graduation.
  5. Collaborate with faculty and other university departments to provide students with the necessary resources and support to succeed academically.
  6. Conduct regular check-ins with students to address any academic concerns and provide guidance and support.
  7. Serve as a liaison between students and relevant university departments for any academic-related issues.
  8. Stay informed about new academic programs, policies, and procedures to accurately advise students.
  9. Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices in academic advising.
  10. Maintain accurate and confidential student records and reports.
  11. Communicate with prospective and incoming students to provide information about the academic advising process and the Part-Time Program Administration.
  12. Act as an advocate for students and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  13. Assist with the development and implementation of academic support programs and workshops.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve the academic advising process to ensure student success.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Education, Counseling, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Academic Advising Or Program Administration At The University Level.

  • Knowledge Of Higher Education Policies And Procedures, Including Academic Regulations And Program Requirements.

  • Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Effectively.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations Of Students, Faculty, And Staff.
