We are currently seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to join our team and oversee sales in the DC, DE, MD, NC, OH, PA, and VA regions. As a Sales Manager at Penguin Random House, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building relationships with clients, and driving revenue growth.   1. Develop and implement sales strategies for the designated regions to drive revenue growth.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including bookstores, libraries, and other retail partners.
  3. Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new sales opportunities.
  4. Train and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  5. Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and editorial, to develop and promote new titles and initiatives.
  6. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the publishing industry and the Penguin Random House product line.
  7. Meet and exceed sales targets and provide regular reports and updates to senior management.
  8. Attend industry events, book fairs, and conferences to network and promote Penguin Random House.
  9. Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and incorporate new sales techniques and technologies into strategies.
  11. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, providing mentorship and support to sales representatives.
  12. Represent Penguin Random House with professionalism and integrity, upholding the company's values and brand image.
  13. Travel within the designated regions as needed to meet with clients and attend events.
  14. Collaborate with other Sales Managers to share best practices and develop cohesive strategies for national sales.
  15. Maintain accurate records and reports of sales activities and performance.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Marketing, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Sales Management, Preferably In The Publishing Industry.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Motivating A Sales Team.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Clients And Colleagues.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of The Book Market In The Dc/De/Md/Nc/Oh/Pa/Va Region And A Strategic Approach To Driving Sales And Meeting Targets.
