- Assist with the development and implementation of publicity plans for various books and authors.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, bloggers, and influencers to secure coverage for our books.
- Coordinate and schedule author events, book tours, and media appearances.
- Create press materials, including press releases, author bios, and pitch letters.
- Monitor media coverage and compile media clips for authors and internal use.
- Assist with the organization and execution of book launch events and other publicity events.
- Manage author schedules and travel arrangements for book tours and events.
- Communicate with authors and their teams to ensure their needs are met and they are informed about publicity efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop integrated campaigns for books.
- Conduct research on media outlets, industry trends, and competition to inform publicity strategies.
- Track and maintain budgets for author events and campaigns.
- Attend meetings with authors and participate in brainstorming sessions for publicity ideas.
- Provide administrative support to the publicity department, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
- Stay up-to-date on industry news, trends, and best practices in book publicity.
- Represent Penguin Random House in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Excellent Communication Skills: A Publicity Assistant At Penguin Random House Must Possess Exceptional Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal. This Includes The Ability To Write Press Releases, Pitch Media Outlets, And Communicate Effectively With Authors And Publishing Teams.
Strong Organizational Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Manage Multiple Projects And Tasks Simultaneously. A Qualified Candidate Should Have Experience With Project Management And Be Able To Prioritize Responsibilities Effectively.
Knowledge Of Publicity And Marketing Strategies: A Successful Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Publicity And Marketing Strategies, Including Media Outreach, Events Planning, And Social Media Management. Familiarity With The Publishing Industry Is A Plus.
Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Publicity Assistant Requires Strong Attention To Detail. This Includes Proofreading Materials, Tracking Media Coverage, And Ensuring Accuracy In All Communications.
