As the Photography Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of photography for our publications, from concept development to final execution. - Lead and manage all photography projects for Penguin Random House publications.
- Develop creative concepts and ideas for book cover and interior photography.
- Collaborate with authors, editors, and designers to ensure that photography accurately represents the content and tone of each book.
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends to continuously improve the quality and relevance of photography.
- Hire and manage a team of photographers, including scheduling, training, and providing feedback.
- Oversee the budget for photography projects and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Coordinate and conduct photoshoots, including location scouting, prop sourcing, and managing logistics.
- Edit and retouch photos to meet quality standards and specifications for print and digital use.
- Maintain and organize a portfolio of high-quality images for future use.
- Communicate regularly with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of photography assets.
- Stay updated on copyright and licensing laws to ensure proper usage of all photography.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and innovate photography processes and techniques.
- Represent Penguin Random House at industry events and conferences related to photography and publishing.
- Stay updated on industry developments and competitor strategies to inform decision-making.
- Uphold and promote the company's values, mission, and brand through all photography work.
Extensive Experience In Photography And Photo Editing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Photography, With A Deep Understanding Of Different Techniques, Styles, And Equipment. They Should Also Have Experience In Photo Editing Software Such As Adobe Photoshop And Lightroom.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Photography Manager, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading And Managing A Team Of Photographers, So They Should Have Excellent Communication, Organization, And Problem-Solving Skills. They Should Also Be Able To Mentor And Motivate Their Team To Produce High-Quality Work.
