PCL Construction is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sr. Preconstruction Manager/Sr. Estimator to join our team at our Manufacturing Center. In this role, you will play a critical role in leading the preconstruction and estimating process for our manufacturing projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from initial concept to final bid. We are seeking a candidate who possesses a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful projects.   1. Lead the preconstruction and estimating process for manufacturing projects.
  2. Ensure accuracy and efficiency from initial concept to final bid.
  3. Utilize strong understanding of the manufacturing industry to inform project planning and decision-making.
  4. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
  5. Provide leadership and guidance to project team members, including junior estimators and project managers.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.
  7. Conduct thorough and accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  8. Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  9. Create detailed project budgets and schedules.
  10. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to develop value engineering options and cost-saving strategies.
  11. Review and negotiate subcontractor bids and proposals.
  12. Prepare and present project estimates and proposals to clients.
  13. Monitor and track project costs and provide regular cost reports to project stakeholders.
  14. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies and techniques.
  15. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  16. Mentor and train junior estimators and project team members.
  17. Continuously strive for process improvement and efficiency in the preconstruction and estimating process.
  18. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Construction Estimating: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Construction Estimating, With A Focus On Manufacturing Center Projects. They Should Be Familiar With Industry Standards, Cost Analysis Techniques, And Have A Proven Track Record Of Accurately Estimating Project Costs.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Manufacturing Center Construction: The Sr. Preconstruction Manager/ Sr. Estimator Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Requirements Of Manufacturing Center Construction. This Includes Knowledge Of Specialized Equipment And Materials, Regulatory Compliance, And Project Scheduling.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership And Management Skills. They Should Be Able To Effectively Lead A Team Of Estimators, Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously, And Collaborate With Project Managers And Other Stakeholders.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: Clear And Effective Communication Is Essential For Success In This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Communicate Complex Construction Concepts And Cost Estimates To Clients, Subcontractors, And Other Team Members. They Should Also Possess Strong Negotiation Skills To Secure Favorable Bids And Contracts.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Construction Management Or A Related Field: A Bachelor's Degree In Construction Management, Engineering, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Role. In Addition, Certifications Such As Certified Professional Estimator (Cpe) Or Certified Construction Manager (Ccm) Are Highly Valued And May Be Required By Some Employers.
