- Design, develop, and maintain complex system and cloud infrastructure for PayPal's online payment solutions.
- Lead and manage the implementation of new technologies and tools to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system and cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud computing, system architecture, and automation.
- Develop and maintain system and cloud documentation, including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
- Work closely with software engineers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.
- Proactively identify and address potential system and cloud infrastructure issues before they impact business operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical system and cloud incidents as needed.
Extensive Experience With Cloud Computing Platforms: A Sr System & Cloud Engineer At Paypal Should Have A Deep Understanding And Hands-On Experience With Major Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud. They Should Be Able To Design, Implement, And Manage Complex Cloud Infrastructure Solutions For The Company's Needs.
Strong Knowledge Of Systems And Network Administration: As A Senior Engineer, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Foundation In Systems And Network Administration. They Should Be Able To Troubleshoot And Resolve Complex Issues Quickly, And Have A Solid Understanding Of Network And Security Protocols.
Proficiency In Automation And Scripting: Automation Is A Crucial Aspect Of Cloud Infrastructure, And A Sr System & Cloud Engineer At Paypal Should Have Strong Skills In Scripting Languages Such As Python, Bash, Or Powershell. They Should Be Able To Automate Routine Tasks, Manage Configuration Changes, And Improve Efficiency.
Experience With Devops Methodologies: Paypal Follows A Devops Approach To Software Development And Deployment, And A Sr System & Cloud Engineer Should Have Experience Working In A Devops Environment. This Includes Using Tools Like Jenkins, Docker, And Kubernetes, And Understanding Agile Development Practices.
