GIS Technician Intern

The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in geographic information systems (GIS) and will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The right candidate will be comfortable working with a variety of GIS software packages such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and MapInfo. They should also be able to demonstrate knowledge of web mapping technology such as Leaflet, OpenLayers, and ArcGIS Online. Additionally, the successful candidate should have a basic understanding of geographic databases and be able to create maps and reports to support project needs. Responsibilities:

1. Create and manage databases, geospatial models, and web mapping applications using GIS software packages such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and MapInfo.
2. Develop maps and reports to support project needs.
3. Utilize web mapping technology such as Leaflet, OpenLayers, and ArcGIS Online.
4. Analyze geographic data and solve complex problems.
5. Utilize strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Collaborate with other team members and departments on projects.
7. Stay up to date with new GIS technologies and trends.
8. Document work processes and procedures.
9. Assist with training and support of GIS software.
10. Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions.
