- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and tools for testing Palo Alto Networks' products and technologies.
- Design and implement test strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of our products.
- Collaborate with software developers and other team members to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct comprehensive and thorough testing of software applications and systems to identify defects and ensure they are resolved before release.
- Create and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts to validate product functionality and performance.
- Analyze and report test results to stakeholders, including identifying defects and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Continuously improve and optimize test processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in software development, test automation, and quality assurance.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on testing strategies and priorities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for quality assurance and test automation, providing insights and recommendations to improve product quality.
- Participate in code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback to developers.
- Work closely with product management and engineering teams to understand product requirements and ensure they are met through testing.
- Proactively identify potential risks and issues and take necessary actions to mitigate them.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies.
Extensive Experience In Software Development And Testing: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have At Least 8 Years Of Experience In Software Development And Testing, With A Strong Understanding Of Software Development Lifecycle, Testing Methodologies, And Automation Frameworks.
Strong Coding And Scripting Skills: A Senior Staff Sdet Engineer Should Have Advanced Coding Skills In Languages Such As Java, Python, Or C++, As Well As Experience With Scripting Languages Like Javascript Or Bash. They Should Also Be Familiar With Automation Tools And Frameworks Like Selenium, Appium, Or Robot Framework.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Testing Methodologies And Tools: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Different Testing Methodologies, Such As Unit Testing, Integration Testing, And End-To-End Testing. They Should Also Be Well-Versed In Using Various Testing Tools And Frameworks, Including Junit, Testng, And Cucumber.
Experience With Test Automation And Continuous Integration: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Developing And Maintaining Automated Tests And Integrating Them Into A Continuous Integration And Delivery Pipeline. They Should Also Have A Good Understanding Of Devops Practices And Tools, Such As Jenkins, Git, And Docker.
Excellent Problem-Solving Skills And Attention To Detail: A Senior Staff Sdet Engineer Should Have A Sharp Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify And Troubleshoot Complex Issues Quickly.
