  1. Conduct thorough analysis and reverse engineering of complex malware to understand its capabilities, behavior, and potential impact on our clients' systems.
  2. Identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in malware code and develop effective countermeasures to mitigate them.
  3. Stay up-to-date with the latest malware trends and attack techniques to proactively identify potential threats and develop innovative solutions.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including threat intelligence, research and development, and incident response, to share insights and develop comprehensive cybersecurity strategies.
  5. Develop and maintain tools and processes for malware analysis, detection, and remediation.
  6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to enhance their reverse engineering skills and knowledge.
  7. Communicate complex technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Participate in research projects and contribute to the development of new techniques and tools for malware analysis.
  9. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to leverage their expertise and resources in the fight against malware.
  10. Adhere to industry best practices and company policies to ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Qualifications
  • Expertise In Malware Reverse Engineering: A Senior Staff Malware Reverse Engineer At Palo Alto Networks Should Have A Strong Background In Malware Analysis, Including Experience In Disassembling, Debugging, And Analyzing Malicious Code. They Should Also Have A Deep Understanding Of Different Programming Languages And Operating Systems.

  • Knowledge Of Network Security: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Network Security Principles And Protocols, Including Tcp/Ip, Dns, Ssl, And Http. They Should Also Have Experience With Intrusion Detection And Prevention Systems, Firewalls, And Other Security Technologies.

  • Experience In Threat Intelligence: A Senior Staff Malware Reverse Engineer Should Have A Proven Track Record In Identifying And Analyzing New And Emerging Threats. They Should Be Able To Conduct In-Depth Threat Research And Provide Actionable Intelligence To The Security Team.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires A High Level Of Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills. The Candidate Should Be Able To Think Critically And Creatively To Solve Complex Malware-Related Issues. They Should Also Be Able To Work Independently And In A Team Environment To Identify And Mitigate Security Risks.

  • Relevant Education And Certifications: A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Computer Science, Information Security, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Role. In Addition, Certifications Such As Grem (Giac Reverse Engineering Malware) Or Oscp (Offensive Security Certified Professional) Are Highly Desirable.
