Lead Technical Writer

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Technical Writer to join our team at Palo Alto Networks. Our ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, as well as a creative problem-solver who takes pride in their work. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing our technical writing team and creating high-quality technical documentation.To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field, as well as at least three years of experience in technical writing. You should also have experience leading a team and developing effective training programs. In addition, you should have excellent organizational and multitasking skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and develop a team of technical writers and create high-quality technical documentation.
2. Develop effective training programs for the technical writing team.
3. Create clear and concise user manuals, technical documents, product specifications, and other written materials.
4. Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of technical documents.
5. Ensure documents are organized and stored in accordance with company policies.
6. Manage the review and approval process for all technical documents.
7. Monitor industry trends and standards for technical writing and make recommendations for improvement.
8. Mentor junior technical writers and provide feedback and guidance on their work.
9. Maintain and update existing documentation as needed.
10. Provide input and direction to improve the technical writing process.
