
Director, Technical Revenue Accounting

- Oversee and manage all aspects of technical revenue accounting for Palo Alto Networks, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of revenue.
- Lead and mentor a team of technical revenue accountants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and operations, to understand business activities and properly recognize revenue.
- Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance on revenue recognition for complex transactions and contracts.
- Review and analyze revenue contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
- Prepare and present revenue-related financial information to senior management and external auditors.
- Monitor industry trends and changes in accounting standards related to revenue recognition, and recommend and implement process improvements as necessary.
- Drive efficiencies and automation in revenue accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place and followed to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives related to revenue accounting, as needed.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company's products and services to accurately assess and recognize revenue.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive a mindset of operational excellence within the technical revenue accounting team.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Revenue Recognition, Preferably In The Technology Industry.
Strong Understanding Of Us Gaap And Asc 606 Revenue Recognition Standards.
Previous Experience Managing A Team And Leading Complex Technical Accounting Projects.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Apply Accounting Principles To Various Business Scenarios.
