Substation Operator

Pacific Gas and Electric is seeking a motivated and experienced Substation Operator to join our team in providing safe and reliable energy to our customers. This position requires an individual with a strong commitment to safety, knowledge of electrical distribution and transmission systems, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of electrical operations and maintenance experience in a substation environment, as well as a valid California driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid certification. The Substation Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all substation equipment and facilities. As part of a team of dedicated professionals, the Substation Operator will be a key contributor to the safe and efficient operation of Pacific Gas and Electric’s electrical service. Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and maintain the safety and reliability of all substation equipment and facilities.
2. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and standards.
3. Respond to and resolve electrical system disturbances.
4. Monitor and analyze electrical system performance and operational data.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all substation operations and maintenance activities.
6. Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
7. Provide excellent customer service to Pacific Gas and Electric customers.
8. Perform regular maintenance and servicing of substation equipment.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
10. Maintain a valid California driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid certification.
