
Substation Operator
Pacific Gas and Electric is seeking a motivated and experienced Substation Operator to join our team in providing safe and reliable energy to our customers. This position requires an individual with a strong commitment to safety, knowledge of electrical distribution and transmission systems, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of electrical operations and maintenance experience in a substation environment, as well as a valid California driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid certification. The Substation Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all substation equipment and facilities. As part of a team of dedicated professionals, the Substation Operator will be a key contributor to the safe and efficient operation of Pacific Gas and Electric’s electrical service. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the safety and reliability of all substation equipment and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and standards.
- Respond to and resolve electrical system disturbances.
- Monitor and analyze electrical system performance and operational data.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all substation operations and maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Provide excellent customer service to Pacific Gas and Electric customers.
- Perform regular maintenance and servicing of substation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
- Maintain a valid California driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid certification.
