Job Description

At Pacific Gas and Electric, we’re looking for a reliable, safety-minded individual to join our team as a Substation Operator. As a key member of the operations team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our substations to support our energy production and distribution. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, dedication to excellence, and a passion for energy production.The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of two years of electrical and/or power plant operations experience, as well as a high school diploma or equivalent. They should also have a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures, excellent problem solving skills, and the ability to make quick decisions. An associate’s degree or certification in a related field is preferred.If you’re a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is committed to working safely and efficiently, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the efficient and safe operation of Pacific Gas and Electric substations
Maintain compliance with safety protocols and procedures
Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance
Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues
Report any issues or potential problems to management
Maintain accurate records and logs of electrical and power plant operations
Inspect substations to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations
Manage and coordinate teams of employees to ensure timely and safe completion of tasks
Monitor and respond to alarms, as needed
Provide training to staff on safety protocols and procedures

Job Qualifications
