
Safety Coordinator
Pacific Gas and Electric is seeking a motivated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by enforcing safety regulations and standards. You will coordinate safety programs, conduct safety training, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.The ideal candidate for this role should possess a good understanding of safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think quickly and problem solve. The Safety Coordinator should be a team player who is able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.To be successful, the Safety Coordinator should have a minimum of three years of experience in a safety-related role, a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of safety programs.
- Monitor employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate, document, and report any workplace safety incidents.
- Lead safety training sessions for new and existing employees.
- Develop and implement safety plans for new projects and tasks.
- Maintain safety equipment and supplies.
- Provide safety advice and guidance to managers and supervisors.
- Coordinate safety inspections and audits.
- Investigate, document, and report any facility hazards.
- Participate in emergency response procedures.
- Develop and deliver presentations on safety topics.
- Track and report safety performance metrics.
