Perform maintenance and repair tasks on electrical distribution systems in a safe and efficient manner.
Install, inspect, and troubleshoot overhead and underground power lines.
Operate and maintain various equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and hand tools.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following all safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding work tasks, progress, and any potential safety concerns.
Continuously monitor and evaluate work sites for potential hazards and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to service calls and addressing customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Stay current with industry developments, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.
Mentor and train new team members to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent the company positively to customers and the community.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Of Electrical Systems And Equipment: A Journey Lineworker Line Of Progression At Pacific Gas And Electric Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Electrical Systems, Including Distribution And Transmission Lines, Transformers, And Other Related Equipment.
Technical Skills: This Position Requires The Ability To Operate And Maintain Specialized Tools And Equipment Used In The Installation And Repair Of Electrical Systems. Candidates Should Have Experience In Safely Climbing Poles And Working At Heights.
Safety Training And Certifications: The Job Of A Journey Lineworker Can Be Hazardous, So Candidates Must Have Completed Safety Training And Hold Necessary Certifications, Such As Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha) 10 Or 30-Hour Courses.
Physical Stamina And Strength: The Job Of A Journey Lineworker Often Involves Working In Adverse Weather Conditions And Requires Physical Stamina And Strength To Perform Tasks Such As Lifting Heavy Equipment And Materials, And Working For Extended Periods Of Time.
Communication And Teamwork Skills: Journey Lineworkers Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Team Members And Other Departments, As Well As Work Collaboratively To Complete Projects And Resolve Issues. Strong Problem-Solving And Decision-Making Skills Are Also Essential In This Role.
