GIS Specialist

At Pacific Gas and Electric, we are seeking an experienced and motivated GIS Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about geospatial technologies and have a strong understanding of GIS principles. This role will require a combination of technical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively.We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in GIS software and systems, and who can apply this knowledge to solve a variety of problems. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field, as well as a minimum of two years of experience in GIS analysis and mapping. We also expect the successful candidate to have a strong background in using ArcGIS, including its various extensions, as well as experience with other GIS platforms. The GIS Specialist must also have a working knowledge of database management systems, web mapping, and remote sensing technologies.We are looking for a creative and organized individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and passionate about GIS, and must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and interpret GIS data to develop maps, reports, and other visualizations for a variety of projects.
2. Design and develop GIS databases and develop digital cartographic products.
3. Design and implement GIS systems and applications.
4. Maintain and troubleshoot GIS software and hardware.
5. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of GIS data.
6. Work with remote sensing technology to identify and analyze data.
7. Develop web-based GIS applications.
8. Create and maintain GIS documentation.
9. Provide technical support and assistance in using GIS software and systems.
10. Collaborate with other departments to develop GIS solutions.
