Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine appropriate solutions.
Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
Order and manage inventory of necessary parts and supplies.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repairs.
Keep abreast of industry developments and advancements in equipment technology.
Make recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding equipment status and any potential issues.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For The Position Of Equipment Mechanic At Pacific Gas And Electric. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Educational Knowledge And Skills Necessary For The Job.
Technical Training Or Certification: Candidates With Technical Training Or Certification In Equipment Mechanics, Such As A Certificate Or Degree In Diesel Or Heavy Equipment Technology, Are Highly Preferred. This Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of The Principles And Practices Of Equipment Maintenance And Repair.

Strong Mechanical Aptitude: The Ideal Candidate For The Position Of Equipment Mechanic At Pacific Gas And Electric Should Possess A Strong Mechanical Aptitude And Be Able To Troubleshoot And Diagnose Mechanical Issues Accurately. This Requires A Combination Of Technical Knowledge, Critical Thinking, And Problem-Solving Skills.
