  1. Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  2. Oversee all tax compliance efforts to ensure full adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and advise upper management on potential impacts to the company.
  4. Prepare and submit all necessary tax filings, including federal, state, and local taxes.
  5. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions and initiatives.
  7. Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants.
  8. Provide guidance and support to departmental staff on tax-related matters.
  9. Communicate complex tax concepts and strategies to non-tax professionals within the company.
  10. Develop and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities and respond to inquiries or audits as needed.
  11. Monitor and report on tax-related risks and opportunities to upper management.
  12. Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure accurate tax projections.
  13. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in tax management.
  14. Lead and mentor team members to foster growth and development within the tax department.
  15. Act as a representative of the company in tax-related matters with external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Tax Knowledge: A Director/Chief Propel Tax At Pacific Gas And Electric Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Tax Laws And Regulations At The Local, State, And Federal Levels. This Includes Knowledge Of Income Tax, Sales Tax, Property Tax, And Other Relevant Taxes.

  • Leadership Skills: This Role Requires Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Lead A Team Of Tax Professionals. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Tax Strategies And Leading Tax Planning Initiatives.

  • Financial Acumen: The Director/Chief Propel Tax Should Have A Strong Grasp Of Financial Concepts And Be Able To Analyze Complex Financial Data To Make Informed Decisions. This Includes Budgeting, Forecasting, And Financial Planning Skills.

  • Communication Skills: As A Key Member Of The Executive Team, The Director/Chief Propel Tax Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Complex Tax Information To Stakeholders And Senior Leadership. This Includes The Ability To Present And Explain Tax Strategies And Implications In A Clear And Concise Manner.

  • Experience In Utility Industry: While Not A Requirement, Experience In The Utility Industry Is A Plus For This Role. Understanding The Unique Tax Challenges And Regulations In The Energy Sector Can Give A Candidate A Competitive Edge In This Position.
