Job Description

Outback Steakhouse is looking for a passionate and highly experienced Sous Chef to join our team as a key leader in our kitchen. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced culinary professional who is passionate about producing high-quality food and providing exceptional customer service. The Sous Chef will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, menu execution, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.To be successful in this role, you must have at least four years of experience in a restaurant kitchen, preferably with a high-volume, fast-paced environment. You must be a team player who is not only able to lead, but also to take direction and follow instructions. You must also be organized, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. In addition, you must have a strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. A culinary degree is preferred, but not required.If you have the right combination of experience, leadership, and culinary skills, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily operations of the kitchen and ensure high standards of food safety and sanitation
  2. Develop menus, create recipes, and ensure menu execution
  3. Lead and direct staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  4. Ensure staff is adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations
  5. Monitor inventory and order food supplies as needed
  6. Work with the Head Chef to develop cost-effective solutions
  7. Liaise with restaurant management to ensure customer satisfaction
  8. Train and coach kitchen staff in culinary techniques and safety standards
  9. Create schedules and manage staffing levels
  10. Maintain a safe and organized workspace
