  1. Lead and manage all inpatient HIM coding initiatives for the company.
  2. Utilize expertise in coding processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and find new solutions for HIM coding challenges.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry changes and regulations related to HIM coding.
  5. Develop and implement training programs for coding staff to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  6. Analyze coding data and provide recommendations for improvement and optimization.
  7. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all coding tasks and projects.
  8. Communicate and coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure smooth implementation of coding solutions.
  9. Act as a subject matter expert for HIM coding and provide guidance and support to coding staff.
  10. Monitor and track coding quality and productivity metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  11. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  12. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve coding processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  14. Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve any coding-related system issues.
  15. Serve as a role model and mentor for junior coding staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.

  • Ahima Or Aapc Coding Certification (E.g. Ccs, Ccs-P, Cpc).

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Inpatient Him Coding, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Cms, Icd-10, And Cpt Coding Guidelines And Reimbursement Methodologies.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Coding Professionals.
